Tetradrachm of large size belonging to the famous Roman-Alexandrian series minted exclusively in its 4th (224-225 AD) and 7th years ( 226-227 AD), in Alexandria by roman engravers or in Rome always by roman engravers: the matter is still open but it were issued coins of exceptional style and easily recognisable since they are very different from those tipically Egyptian -Alexandrian. In this excellent specimen we admire on the obverse the laureate bust of Alexander Severus and on the reverse, the draped one of his mother Julia Mamaea. See STAFFIERI, G. M., Alexandria in Nummis, Nr. 201-203, pp 401-406.
