Very rare, centred and perfectly engraved is this tetradrachm of year 11 of Maximian (295-296 AD), showing on the reverse a vibrant and imposing cuirassed bust of victorious Athens wearing Corinthian helm, spear and shield: perhaps a hint at the successes in the Britannic war in progress that year. A coin known in only three specimens.
