Egypt. Alexandria. Hadrian, 117-138. Hemidrachm (Bronze, 28.66 mm, 12.58 g). Dated RY 12 (= 127/8). ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙ - ΤΡΑΙ ΑΔΡΙΑ ϹΕΒ Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right. Rev. Euthenia reclining left on Andro-Sphinx, holding grain ears; L ΔωΔЄK (date) in exergue. Geissen 989. Dattari-Savio 1709 & 7642-4. RPC III, 5719. Emmett 1086. Milne 1270. On the reverse of this refined and perfectly centred hemidrachm, we admire Euthenia, the Prosperity auspicious for the abundance of crops. She holds with her right hand a bunch of ears of corn, relaxed and lying on the back of a pharaonic Androsphinx of the Gizali type.
