Anonymous. AE Sextans, Luceria mint (?), c. 206-195 BC. Obv. Draped bust of Mercury right, wearing winged petasus; above, two pellets. Rev. Prow of galley right; above, ROMA; club on sail; below to right side, two pellets. Cr. -; cf. 97/20=97/27. 5.13 g. 20.00 mm. RR. Dark patina, traces of cleaning marks. Good VF. Intriguing issue, with peculiar style, close to that of Luceria; but the absence of L mint mark does not allow us to assign it with certainty to this mint. To be noted as peculiar signs, in addition to the style of the obverse, also the presence of the club on sail and the misalignment of the two pellets on reverse.
