Greek Italy. Etruria, Populonia. AE Quadrans, late 3rd century BC. Obv. Head of Menvra right, wearing crested Corinthian helmet; above, three pellets. Rev. [Pvplv]na. Owl right, head facing, wings closed; above, two stars and crescent; below, three pellets (partly off flan). Vecchi EC 134 (only one specimen cited); HN Italy 185 (the same); Vicari 112. 12.30 g. 28.00 mm. RRRR. Excessively rare, apparently the second example known. Reverse slightly off centre. Uneven earthen deep olive green patina, with turquoise spots. F/VF.
