Caria. Antioch ad Maeandrum. Traianus Decius, 248-251. Bronze (34.16 mm, 21.51 g). Circa AD 248-251. AYT K TPAIA - NOC ΔЄΚΙΟC Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Decius right. Rev. ANTIOXЄ - ΩΝ above, ΜЄΑΝΔΡΟC below. Bridge with six arches over Maeander river with tumultuous waters, bridge gateway above to left, the river god Maeandros reclining right in the center, holding cornucopia on the left arm and reed in the right hand, beside him to right, two standing figures to left. RPC IX, 766. BMC 52. Greenish-gray patina. Good Very Fine. Extremely rare: the fifth known specimen.
