KINGS OF CAPPADOCIA. Ariarathes V Eusebes Philopator, 163-130 BC. Drachm (Silver, 17.79 mm, 3.96 g) Dated RY 32 (= 131-130 BC) ) Mint A, Eusebeia under Mount Argaios. Diademed head of Ariarathes to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ vertical to right, ΑΡΙΑΡΑΘΟΥ vertical to left, ΕΥΣΕΒΟΥΣ below. Athena Nikephoros draped and wearing long crested helmet, standing facing, head turned to left; holding Nike on the right hand crowning the king’s name to left with laurel wreath, long spear behind and resting the left arm on shield at her feet set vertical, both to her left side. Monograms to inner and outer left and to outer right, in exergue, BΛ (date). Simonetta 13a (Ariarathes IV). HGC 7, 811. Some scratches. Deposits, otherwise, Good Very Fine.
