P. Sepullius Macer. AR Denarius, Rome mint, 44 BC (before 15 March, Caesar death). Obv. Laureate head of Caesar right; on the left, eight rayed star; on the right, CAESA[R·IMP]. Rev. Venus standing left, holding sceptre and Victory, on the left, MACER; on the right, P·SEPVLLIVS. Cr. 480/5b; B. 46 (Julia) ; 1 (Sepullia). AR. 4.20 g. 19.50 mm. RR. Great metal and broad flan, exceptionally overweight for issue. Outstanding subtly smiling portrait. Minor areas of weakness and slight delamination on reverse, beside the edge (5-6 h), otherwise. about EF/ Good VF.
