Rev. Serapis draped as fountain-god standing facing, head turned to left, wearing kalathos on his head and holding simpulum in the right extended hand and drapery on his left bent arm, round basin set on a lion’s head shape fountain to his right, L Λ (date) across fields. Tetradrachm of excellent quality from the Giovanni Dattari Collection. The style is pleasing, especially on the reverse, with the calm and solemn image of Zeus Serapis next to a fountain, in ritual robes with the sacrificial simpulum in his right hand.
