Sicily. Syracuse. Dionysos I (405-367 BC). AV 20 Litrai – Tetradrachm. Struck circa 405-400 BC. Obv. [ΣΥΡ]Α. Head of Herakles left, wearing lion skin. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square, ΣΥΡΑ in quarters; in deeper incuse circle in centre, small female head (Arethousa?) left, wearing necklace. HGC 2 1289; SNG ANS 350-6; SNG Cop. 683-4; Rizzo pl. 48, 9. AV. 1.14 g. 12.00 mm. RR. Very rare and choice. Slight obverse die-shift and small area of flatness. Good VF.
