Half Shekel (Silver, 19.20 mm, 3.67 g) ΣΩKAN NAΣ Cuirassed and helmeted warrior on horseback walking right, wearing filleted palm branch in his right hand, the horse raising the right paw, magistrate’s name between horse’s paws. Rev. TAPAΣ in exergue. Taras on dolphin to left, holding kantharos in the extended right hand and trident to right under the bent left arm, eagle turned to left standing right with open wings. Vlasto 984-6; HN Italy 1082; SNG ANS 1272; HGC 1, 934. Amazing details, slightly off center the Taras head, otherwise, Extremely Fine. From a Swiss collection, formed before 2005.
