Andronicus II Paleologus with Michael IX, 1282-1328. Hyperpyron (Electron, 22.60 mm, 3.27 g) Constantinopolis, 1294-1320. Half-length figure of the Theotokos (Virgin Mary) nimbate, standing facing, orans, within city walls with four towers, star to both sides of the Virgin, K to left, N to right. Rev. Christ nimbate standing facing in the middle, blessing with the hands above their heads Andronicus to left and Michael right, standing facing, both crowned. To outer left and right the names vertical of the emperors, IC XC flanking Christ on top, all within double dotted circle. Sear 2396; DOC V, 235. Nearly Very Fine.
