

Anonymous. AR Fourrée early denarius (so far referred as 'didrachm'), uncertain Campanian mint, end of IV century. Obv. Helmeted head of Mars left; oak spray to right. Rev. Horse's head right, wearing bridle, on base inscribed [RO]MA[NO]; stalk of grain to left. Cr. 13/1; RRSC E 1. 6.60 g. 20.50 mm. RR. Very rare and outstanding example. Insignificant banker's mark on obverse and minor metal flaws on reverse, otherwise. EF.
