Nude figure of an athlet standing facing, head right; holding strigil and balsamarium. Cr. -. AE. 3.04 g. 18.50 mm. RRRR. Unlisted in the standard references. Unpublished denomination of C. Marcius Censorinus. delicate brown patina, minor metal flaw on obverse. About EF. Intriguing type, not easily intelligible. The figure appears peculiar, with unusual attributes in his hands. This reverse probably refers to an episode or anecdote linked to the historical character of the moneyer or to his family which is no longer understandable today.
