Russia. Nicholas II (1894-1917). AE Medal, 1905. For the 50th anniversary of the Defence of Sebastopol. Obv. 1854-1855 1902-1905. Two medallions with the heads of Nicholas I and Alexander II, both left; above a smaller medallion showing the monograms 'A III' and 'N II' (Alexander III and Nicholas II), surmounted by the Imperial Crown; below, a plain St George's cross, with a round medallion in centre, showing the number 349, surrounded by oak and laurel wreath; to right, intertwined branches of oak and laurel. Rev. Plan of the harbour and town of Sebastopol, showing the different redoubts and batteries and places where the ships were sunk; over this the Imperial Eagle flying left with laurel wreath in its claws; above, the Heavenly Eye; in the filed, Ps. 22:4-5 in Russian.
