Lot # 63 - Colonie Genovesi. Foglia Vecchia (Phocaea). Dorino Gattilusio (1400-1449), Signore di Chio, Lesbo e delle Due Focee. Ducato in oro al tipo di quello veneziano. Obv. San Marco nimbato, stante a sinistra, porge il vessillo al sovrano genuflesso (Dorino (?)). Rev. Il Redentore stante di fronte entro aureola ellittica cosparsa di stelle. Schl. pl. XVII, 6; Gamb. III 349; Fried. 8. AU. 3.50 g. Ø 21.00 mm. RR. Molto raro. Aree di appiattimento da coniazione. Bel BB.I Gattilusio, di origine genovese, furono signori dell'isola di Lesbo dal 1355 per concessione di Giovanni V Paleologo. Nel 1403 Dorino ricevette da suo fratello maggiore Jacopo il dominio sulla città di Focea Vecchia, sulla costa dell'Asia Minore, che suo padre aveva ottenuto tramite un contratto dalla La Maona a partire dal 1402.
