Greek Italy. Southern Lucania, Heraclea. AR Stater, 330/25-281 BC. Obv. Head of Athena right, wearing Corinthian helmet decorated with Scylla hurling rock; palmette on neck-guard; before, K. Rev. |-HPAKΛEIΩN. Herakles standing facing, holding club, bow, and arrow, with lion’s skin draped over left arm; to upper left, Nike flying right, crowning Herakles; EYΦ to outer left; Σ to right. HN Italy 1383; SNG ANS 69; Van Keuren 81 (same dies). AR. 7.64 g. 22.00 mm. R. Nicely toned, reverse well centered. A nice example of a rare emission. Good VF.
