Philip I (244-249). AR Antoninianus, 247 AD. Obv. IMP M IVL PHILIPPVS AVG. Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right. Rev. ROMAE AETERNAE. Roma seated left, holding Victory and sceptre; shield at side. RIC IV 44B. 4.00 g. 22.50 mm. An outstanding example, sharply struck on a broad flan. Bold portrait, lovely light iridescent tone, with golden hues. Good EF/EF.
