First heavy L series. AE Semuncia, c. 215 BC. Obv. Bust of Mercury right, wearing winged petasus. Rev. Prow right; above, ROMA; below, L. Cr. 43/6; RBW 158. 3.46 g. 17.00 mm. Scarce. Lovely green patina with earthy deposits. EF. The dating of this coin has been suggested by Roberto Lippi, based on a new soon to be published study.
