Hadrian (117-138). AE Dupondius, 119-121 AD. Obv. IMP CAESAR TRAIANVS HADRIANVS AVG PM TR P COS III. Radiate bust right, with drapery on far shoulder. Rev. VIRTVTI AVGVSTI SC. Virtus standing right, foot on helmet, holding spear and parazonium. RIC II 605; C. 1470. AE. 14.97 g. 27.50 mm. Enchanting river patina, with its usual defects. About EF/Good VF. On the obverse of this Dupondius, it is possible to see the lines that the engraver traced on the die to position the legend equidistant from the edge.
