CILICIA. Tarsos. Tarkumuwa (Datames) satrap of Cilicia and Cappadocia, 384-361/0 BC. Stater (Silver, 20.73 mm, 9.74 g) circa 370 BC. B’LTRZ in Aramaic to left. Baaltars bare torso seated facing on throne slightly to right, holding bunch of grapes and grain ear in the left hand and resting the right hand on long scepter surmounted by eagle behind his right shoulder; thymiaterion (incense burner) in field to right, all within crenellated circle. Rev. ‘TRDMW’ vertical in Aramaic. Ana bearded standing nude to right, the left leg onward, raising the right arm and resting the left, face to face with Datames bearded, wearing clamys, the right arm raised and bent, resting the left on his hip, thymiaterion between them, all within square dotted frame.
