EGYPTIAN WOODEN MUMMY MASK
Ca.945 BC. An impressive sarcophagus mask, carved from a finely grained cedarwood, the oval/heart-shaped face with finely delineated naturalist nose and lips, well-modeled cheeks, along-shaped eyes and finely arched brows ending just short of the contours of the bridge of the nose. All topped by a sizeable headdress with sight remains of original gesso/textile on the surface.
