M. Caecilius Q. f. Q. n. Metellus. AE Triens, 127 BC. Obv. Helmeted head of Minerva right; behind, four pellets. Rev. Prow right, inscribed M.METELLVS; [above, Macedonian shield]; before, four pellets; in exergue, ROMA. Cr. 263/4. AE. 6.05 g. 19.00 mm. RRRR. Extremely rare issue, only two specimens known (one in BN Paris, the other in BMCRR London). Earthy light green patina with spot of oxidations. Good F/About VF.
